WELCOME MILLY, GEORGIE AND DOTTIE

Well - how could we resist!!! A girl at Neil's work had kittens by mistake (long story!!) and we went to look but not to buy - so we came back with the lot!!

There was no way we could split them up and they are just full of fun - house is now completely wrecked - but hey - its great fun!!

WE WENT BACK TO NAPIER

A few posts back we mentioned that we had made some friends who lived in Napier (see post - no longer billy no mates).

They have decided to move to AKL but before they moved, they invited us down for a weekend. We flew down on the 19th and had a really great weekend. They organised some bush walks for us and the water falls we stumbled upon were awesome. Much better though was Ocean Beach with waves to die for. We had some body boards and spent almost a whole day splashing around on the waves. The force of the waves was a bit worrying at times and unfortunately Ray got sucked under which is really scary as you get thrown about like a rag doll. You can see Ray facing up to the waves in the blue shorts and blue body board.

A SUNDAY WALK WITH SOME MATES
This was a really nice day out last Sunday (7th Jan).

SUMMER HAS ARRIVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At last summr is here - we were beginning to wonder if we had gone to the right country - its supposed to be sub tropical but we'd say so far more like sub artic!!
Anyhoo - since about a week ago the temp has been about 24 each day (today it was 27!!) with the odd cloud in the sky - its like being in Costa Del plonka but without the scallies!!
What we didn't expect was the humidity which can be quite debilitating - sleeping at night is very difficult - we've not quite got the hang of it - if we leave the patio doors open - we get eaten to death by the mozzies. If we shut the patio doors we get boiled!!
Here's some pictures of our first dinner on the deck - we've eaten out every night since. We're lead to believe that this will continue like this until April!!

It is standard here to have a barbeque as we're sure you can imagine. Ou's has a rotissorie - and we dicided to do a leg of lamb to start (lamb is dead cheap). Well - we've never tasted lamb like it - it was gorgeous. We attempted a chicken - but it fell off and when we went out to check - the whole thing was on fire - it was completely foul!!

A DAY OUT ON THE LAUNCH - DARLING!
Wow!!!
A couple of really great guys who are fast becoming fantastic friends invited us out for a day on their parent's boat. We thought we were going on one of the little trailer type boats - little did we know that it way actually a 33' launch!!
We went out to an island called Tiritiri Mitangi which was absolutley gorgeous. In the morning, dad went out and caught some snapper and mum made some snapper sarnies whilst we splashed obout in the water (its actually quite warm now) - it really was an awesome day out!!!

This is a picture from the island of Seans' dad coming to get us to head home. Unfortunately we ran out of petrol for the outborad motor and we had to swim ashore at Brown's Bay.
