THE BAY OF ISLANDS

We had heard that a storm was brewing so we decided to take the chance and go out and see the islands. Its was a really grey day but the sights were awesome nevertheless. It rained on and off but that didn't detract from the views.

There is a famous 'hole in the rock' which is a must if you are in this part of NZ. We went through it in the boat which really was a great experience - you can see from the guy's face at the bottom how delighted he is that we made it (maybe he was releived - not sure!!)

There are 144 islands in the bay and it is beauty beyond belief - on a sunny day it must be even more gorgeous.
