Paul and Debs - Happy Silver Wedding Anniversary!!

Paul and Debbie are Ray's Sister and Brother in law. They came to NZ on holiday to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary. Here are some pciies of the first night.

We decided that instead of giving a piece of silver to carry all the way back that we would give a 'significant memory' to take back instead. We hired a helicopter to take us around the city then off to Waiake Island for some wine tasting and lunch. The helicopter dropped us off and came back to get us just as the sun was setting. For all of us it was the most perfect day.

Having a bad hair day love?????????

It was Ray's bithday on 24/6 and also the day before Neil flew out to Melbourne.

We decided to have a bad hair party which was a total hoot!! We had the best time ever!!!

Neil announced about a hundred times that he needed to go to bed early as he had big day tommorrow but in true McMillan form - fell into his bed at 4am!!!

Here are some picture of the night. We have made so many wondeful friends in Auckland and it is so hard to goodbye - looking at these we realise just how fortunate we have been.......

Welcome to Melly Blog!!!!!

Sorry we've not posted for ages but been a tad busy!!!

Anyhoo - I (neil) have been in Melbourne for 4 weeks now but sadly Ray is still in Auckland.

Melly is great but completely different from AKL. Its so busy - its a bit like London - it never stops!!

My job is good and just the challenge that I have been needing. The company is very professional and there is loads I can bring to the party and so I hope that there will be great opportunities for me. Its a bit weird being the boss of the whole thing but I'm getting into it. I look after some clients in South Australia and I've been jetting off all over the place. 2 weeks ago I was in Sydney and then the week after - Adelaide!! I've even got a client in Alice Springs!!!

The weather here right now is unexpectadly VERY cold. Evertone thinks of Oz as very hot but not here!! Its rained almost every day since I've been here and the Melbournians are delighted - its not rained properly here for almost a year!!

The temp will go up and in the height of summer it will reach the 40's but on average it will be low 30's - can't wait!!!

Melly is very cosmopolitan - there are thousands of restraunts and the shopping is to die for. Whats more is that the transport system is most likley the best in the world - there are trams, busses, trains everywhere - getting to work is a joy unlike AKL where it was a nightmare!!

I've rented an apartment until January at which time we'll both find a house together. Ray is coming over in late Aug and we both can't wait to be together again. I've attched some photos of the apartment below. Its really funky. Its brand new and never been lived in. Whats more - its got a gym and a pool - better get down there lardy I hear you say!!!
