CAMPING IN NEW SOUTH WALES - APRIL 2008.

We went to a national park camping up in the mountains - IT WAS FREEZING AT NIGHT!!!! the park was great with good facilities (no hot water though) and it was right out at one with nature.

Here's our first close up encounter with a kangaroo!

This guy is a Goana - they can be quite dangerous because when they ger scared - they run up things. They have HUGE and very sharp claws and they are known to run up people!!

Here's our first snake - we really crapped it!! Actually this guy is not harmful unless you attack him - he's a carpet snake and actually very small - we're told that fully grown they are about 3m long!! he wasn't for moving (we bumped into him while out bushwalking) as he was warming up in the sun - we had to wait till he moved off!
How Old???

Yep the olde bugger was 40 - here are some pictures of the event!

Ray organised a surprise birthday dinner with some of our new friends (and some old ones!). it was such a great night - we went to a restaurant at the top of Mount Cootha - the night was the night of Earth Hour and we saw all the lights going out across the city - fab!

Here's my new bike!!! Now I cylce to work a couple of times a week - its really great as there are cycle paths along the river bank so I don't need to go on the roads much at all.

One of our new friends (who we knew in Melbourne and moved up also) treated Ray and I to a night out at the footie - the atmosphere was fantastic -this was a big game (The Broncos) and there was a crowd of 60,000!
